Project Overview
Velta is delivering essential water infrastructure improvements in Llyswen, installing 22km of 315mm water mains to connect reservoirs and properties across the village. With a strong emphasis on minimising disruption, the project has been carefully planned to ensure smooth progress while maintaining positive engagement with the local community.
Our Approach
- Minimising Disruption: To support the town’s cultural and economic vibrancy, all works were temporarily paused during the Hay Festival, ensuring the event could proceed without interference.
- Considerate Construction: Understanding the impact of major works, we also halted operations over the Christmas period to reduce disruption for residents and businesses during the festive season.
- Community Engagement: Velta worked closely with residents and businesses, proactively communicating road closures and potential disruptions, keeping inconvenience to an absolute minimum.
- Sustainable Practices: Where possible, we utilised low-impact construction methods to protect the local environment and maintain the rural charm of Llyswen.
