Velta is supporting Gigaclear in their plans to unlock the potential of poorly-served, rural communities by delivering fast and reliable broadband to people’s doorsteps through an NEC4 service term contract until 2026.


Following the liquidation of a previous supplier, Gigaclear asked us to undertake a programme of legacy repairs, rectifying defects on the full-fibre network to keep customers connected.


Working collaboratively with our client, we prepared a full programme of repairs, categorising the defects to prioritise the most urgent cases. Recognising the importance of reliable connectivity to Gigaclear’s customers, we doubled our resources to ensure defects were addressed as quickly as possible.


We undertake all planning, permitting, and noticing, engaging with local authorities to agree temporary traffic management plans to keep our people safe and minimise disruption. Our in-house traffic management capabilities support our responsive and flexible approach.


We also engage proactively with residents and landowners to agree access to private land – ensuring customers are always informed and happy.

–  Highway and footpath reconstruction

–  Surfacing

To date we have fixed over 500 legacy defects on the network, ensuring works are delivered promptly and to the highest standards in terms of quality and safety.
