We are actively seeking skilled and dedicated Groundworkers to join our growing team. As a Groundworker, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our projects, contributing to our core values of integrity, inclusivity, innovation, and quality.

Position Overview:
As a Groundworker at Velta Construction, you will be responsible for undertaking a range of tasks related to preparing construction sites and assisting with diverse aspects of construction projects. Working collaboratively within our construction team, you will contribute to the successful completion of a wide variety of civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Adhere to safety regulations for a secure working environment.
• Report accidents/near misses as per Velta’s safety guidelines.
• Complete tasks as directed by the Supervisor/Ganger.
• Ensure timely completion of project documentation.
• Notify Supervisor/Ganger promptly of any schedule delays or issues.
• Ensure tools/equipment are in good working order and report defects.
• Conduct groundwork activities for site preparation.
• Install drainage systems for effective water management.
• Lay kerbs and paving with precise alignment and quality finish.
• Assist in pouring, finishing, and curing concrete as required.
• Collaborate on installing utility services (water, gas, electricity) with specialist contractors.
• Use various construction equipment including dumpers and rollers.
• Work closely with team members and contractors for smooth project delivery.

Requirements:

Experience: Proven track record as a Groundworker in the construction industry.

Skills: Proficient in various groundwork tasks, including excavation, drainage installation, and concrete work.

Certification: NRSWA, EUSR, SHEA Water, CPCS / CSCS, First Aid, CAT and Genny, Plant above and below 10t, Dumper and roller, Slinger / signaller.  Control point experience is desirable.
