Velta delivered concrete defect repairs and bearing replacement at Taf Fawr Viaduct – part of the A465 Heads of the Valleys upgrade – on time and without a single defect or environmental incident.

Working in a live-traffic, ecologically sensitive location, we carried out deck, soffit and abutment repairs using MEWPs, underbridge units, and scissor lifts. Breakout arisings were captured using lined MEWPs and sealed units, with zero risk to the surrounding watercourse.

We remediated bearing voids following a tightly controlled sequence aligned with QA hold points. Each pour was subject to inspection to confirm full material integrity and compliance with specification.

Deck-level works were completed under coordinated traffic management plans, with single-lane closures at night and weekends to keep traffic moving.
