Velta delivered the design and build of a reinforced in-situ concrete slab to support Mecana units at Dŵr Cymru/Welsh Water’s Monmouth Wastewater Treatment Works. This project formed part of the treatment works expansion and was critical in supporting the installation of SAF aeration filters and lamella tanks, key components in the first stage of water treatment.

We completed the slab construction ahead of schedule and within budget, achieving significant cost savings through our design optimisation. The slab, built to precise tolerances and with integrated ducting for future electrical connections, was handed over with zero defects.

The project’s success was underpinned by our in-house teams, who maintained full control over quality and programme, delivering a high-quality solution for Welsh Water and the local community.
