Bryn Cowlyd WTW Emergency Repairs

Velta was called to deliver an emergency repair to a failed water main at in North Wales. With water supply at risk to more than 70,000 homes, three hospitals, and several schools, we responded immediately.

Our emergency protocols were already well established, with fully equipped and fuelled emergency vehicles ready to mobilise. Detailed inventory checklists, and accountable individuals meant we were deployment-ready – with calibrated clean water equipment, specialist tools, and temporary works materials on board and in working order.

Once on site, our teams worked in split shifts to provide continuous cover. We isolated the fault, installed temporary overland pipework to maintain supply, and removed and replaced the failed section using calibrated clean water equipment, reinstated to specification, and tested ahead of full re-pressurisation.
