Velta delivered 20km of new potable water mains in rural Powys including excavation, pipelaying, testing, and reinstatement across highways, farmland, and through residential areas.
The route included over 450 service crossings, all completed with zero service interruptions. Where possible, our in-house teams used trenchless methods like Horizontal Directional Drilling to minimise disruption and environmental impact. Elsewhere, we deployed traditional trenching supported by in-house designed temporary works to ensure stability and safety.
Community access and utility protection were prioritised with detailed traffic management and early engagement with landowners and local stakeholders. Our focus on efficient planning, quality control and high safety standards delivered a reliable water network upgrade – completed on time, on budget, and without incident.
