PROJECT OVERVIEW
Velta has played a key role in the A465 Heads of the Valleys upgrade, delivering essential infrastructure improvements that enhance connectivity and safety across the region. Our work has spanned multiple critical elements of the project, ensuring high-quality construction while maintaining a proactive and solution-focused approach.
Scope of Work
- Surface Water Drainage: Installation of surface water channel drainage from Gurnos to Baverstocks.
- Filter Drainage: Completion of filter drainage systems along the route.
- Blockstone Walls: Construction of three blockstone walls.
- Pedestrian Footpaths: Installation of footpaths and kerb lines along the Gurnos Ring Road.
- Manhole Installation: Installation of various manholes, ranging from 1050mm to 2100mm in diameter.
- Interceptors: Installation of two interceptors.
- Concrete Repairs: Restoration of piers, abutments, and soffits, including steel reinforcement and cementitious patch repairs.
- Deck Repairs: Post-hydro demolition deck repairs with a cementitious mix and aggregates to protect existing steel.
- Barrier & Parapet Work: Removal of existing barriers and installation of new PCC parapet sections and in-situ casting.
- Additional Works: Demolition of approach slabs, waterproofing removal, installation of new drainage, kerbs, and footpaths, and application of mastic joints between parapets.
